Shipping & Pickup Policy

At Big Island Living, we specialize in handcrafted, Hawaii-inspired furniture and art — much of it made from solid wood and other natural materials. Because many of our items are large, heavy, and one-of-a-kind, shipping can be complex and varies by item.

🚛 Local Pickup – Free & Easy

We offer free in-store pickup six days a week during our normal business hours:

• Monday to Saturday: 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Sunday: Closed

Pickup is available at our showroom and warehouse located at 73-5613 Olowalu Street in Kailua-Kona. We’re happy to help load your items and can coordinate timing that works best for you.

📦 Shipping Within Hawaii and the Mainland

We’re based on the Big Island of Hawaii, and many of our items are too large or fragile for standard shipping. Here’s how we handle orders:

Small Items (Eligible for USPS or FedEx)

• If your item qualifies for small parcel shipping, we will provide a custom shipping quote based on your location and the item’s size and weight.
• You’ll receive the quote for approval before any charges are made or items are shipped.

Large or Freight Items

• Furniture and oversized pieces require freight shipping, which varies significantly based on destination and delivery method.
• We’ll prepare a custom freight quote after receiving your order and contact you for approval.
• Freight shipping may require curbside delivery or terminal pickup, especially for remote or residential areas.

• We do not offer flat-rate or automated shipping at checkout, as every order is unique.
• Shipping to or from Hawaii often involves longer lead times and higher costs — we do our best to keep pricing fair and transparent.
