Teak Furniture Care & Maintenance
Whether your teak furniture lives indoors or outdoors, a little routine care goes a long way. Teak is a naturally durable hardwood that’s well-suited to island life—but to keep it looking its best, here are a few simple tips.

☀️ Caring for Teak
Teak naturally weathers over time, but regular oiling helps preserve its rich color and texture. With a little love, teak furniture will repay the love many times over!
Daily sun exposure matters:
☀️ 3 to 8 hours of sun per day apply a fresh coat of teak oil every 4 to 6 months.
☀️ Less than 3 hours of sun per day, oiling every 6 to 24 months may be sufficient.
Signs it’s time to oil: If the wood begins to look dry, bleached, or gray, apply a fresh coat of oil to restore its natural beauty.
🖌️ How to Apply Teak Oil. Oiling teak is simple and satisfying—here’s how to do it right:
1) Use a brush or clean towel to apply a thin, even coat of oil.
2) Wait 1–2 minutes, then use a lint-free cloth to thoroughly wipe off all excess oil.
3)Repeat until you’re happy with the color and finish.
⚠️ Always wipe off excess oil️ —leaving too much behind can result in a sticky or tacky surface.
🛠️ Light surface scratches, water rings from glasses are easy to fix! Here's what to do:
1) Lightly sand the surface using 120 or 180 grit sandpaper to remove imperfections. We recommend using a random orbital sander.
2) Then follow with 220 grit for a smooth finish.
3) Wipe clean, then follow steps above to apply teak oil. Your teak furniture will look like new again!

🧪 Teak Oil: No Substitutes
Teak oil and teak go together like poke and rice or peanut butter and jelly—they just belong.
Teak oil is specially formulated to absorb into teak wood and bond with it, enhancing its natural beauty and protecting it over time.
What teak oil does: think of it like sunscreen—it helps protect against fading, drying, and graying from UV exposure.
Teak Oil layers beautifully—you can apply new coats of teak oil over older ones, and it’ll still turn out great.
Other products like polyurethane or varnishes can cause all kinds of problems:
-Sticky surfaces
-Uneven finishes
-Worst of all, other finishes can make it much harder to bring teak back to that fresh, clean, like-new look.
Stick with teak oil—it’s what your teak furniture was made for.
